Fleet Driver Risk Assessment
A structured on-road assessment of each driver in their own work vehicle, scored against defined competencies and returned as a written report your managers can act on.

Driver Development

- How long does an assessment take?
- Each Fleet Driver Risk Assessment is 90 minutes on-road, plus roughly 20 minutes for the licence and eyesight check, walkaround observation and end-of-drive debrief. Allow around two hours of the driver’s day in total. We do not shorten it, and that is deliberate: a 30-minute drive reveals how someone performs while being observed, not how they habitually drive.
- What’s included in the report?
- Every driver receives a written report covering 14 scored competency categories, an overall Low, Medium or High risk classification, narrative commentary from the assessor, specific recommended actions and a suggested re-assessment interval. Alongside the individual reports, managers receive a fleet summary showing the risk distribution across the cohort and the dominant themes. Reports are delivered digitally within five working days.
- Can assessments be carried out at our site?
- Yes, and it is our default. The assessor travels to the driver’s normal base, uses the driver’s own work vehicle and builds a route from the roads that driver covers day to day. It removes travel time for your team and produces a far more realistic assessment than a neutral vehicle on unfamiliar roads.
- Do you work nationally?
- Yes. We deliver across eight UK regions: London and the South East, South West and Wales, the Midlands, the East of England, the North West, Yorkshire and the North East, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Multi-site fleets are delivered to a single standard with one point of contact and consolidated reporting, so a driver in Aberdeen is assessed and scored exactly as a driver in Bristol.
- Can you assess company cars and vans?
- Yes. We assess company cars, car-derived vans, panel vans and 3.5 tonne vehicles, plus grey-fleet drivers using their own vehicles for work. Where a driver operates more than one vehicle type we will normally assess in the one they spend most of their working time in, and note the other in the report.
- Do you provide ongoing fleet programmes?
- Most clients start with a fleet-wide baseline and then move onto a rolling programme: new starters assessed at induction, Medium and High risk drivers into development and re-scored, and everyone else on an annual or biennial review cycle. You get a named account manager, an agreed schedule, quarterly management information and consolidated invoicing.
