Fleet Driver Risk Assessment
The Fleet Driver Risk Assessment is the foundation of every Foresight programme. A qualified fleet assessor spends 90 minutes on-road with each driver across a mixed route — urban, rural and dual carriageway — and scores observed driving against a consistent competency framework. Managers receive a written report per driver plus a fleet-level summary, so occupational road risk stops being anecdotal and becomes measurable.

Consistency is what makes the output comparable across a fleet. Two drivers assessed by two different assessors in two different regions are scored the same way.

Pre-assessment licence and eyesight check
Licence category, entitlement and DVLA check reference recorded, plus a roadside eyesight check to the standard required for driving.

Vehicle familiarisation and daily walkaround
The driver demonstrates their daily vehicle check, load security and cab set-up before the drive begins.

90-minute on-road drive
Mixed route covering urban, rural and high-speed roads with commentary drive segments to reveal observation and planning.

Competency scoring across 14 categories
Observation, anticipation, planning, speed management, positioning, gap selection, mirror discipline, junction procedure and more.

On-the-spot driver debrief
A coaching conversation at the end of the drive so the driver leaves knowing exactly what to work on.

Risk classification, category scores, narrative commentary, recommended actions and suggested re-assessment interval.
Risk classification
Every assessed driver receives one of three classifications. The classification drives the recommended intervention and the re-assessment interval.
From first conversation to evidenced improvement
A repeatable five-stage cycle. Stages one to four typically complete within three weeks of a driver being scheduled; stage five is where measured risk reduction is delivered.
